Decided to put the MotorPoint stuff away ..... ands fit something a bit more neutral .......... FIAT stickers are coming off tomorrow Done ...............
Phew ............ as in, survived. Not only first race on the new R1, but it was wet too ......... and believe me ...... litre bikes take a lot of getting used to in the rain 2 races - 7th and 9th in class (out of 11 but who's counting) but we scooped 7 championship points so we are on the table ................. ...
Was at Jim Allans this morning bright and early .............. to get the dirt on the "story" ....... The boys just smiled when I told them what had gone on ...... motor was ready for colklection, no drama. Moral of the story - dont let the old blokes answer the phone. Had the motor back in the bike by close of play today - excellent - next stop Snetterton.
Well it's all pretty tense around here at the moment .............. As mentioned before, I blew the head gasket last time at snetterton, pretty sure I caught it and got it sghut down before there was any damage ...... anyway .... got the bike home, had the engine out in an hour. I thought I was being smart ...... having never had the head off an R1 before, I figured smart move woiuld be to pay an expert to do it for me. I phoned the main Yamaha dealer around here, ...
